Install and connect your store
Toofast Catalog Connect lets shoppers browse your Western Power Sports catalog through the API. You do not need to import the full catalog or download its image library. A part becomes a hidden WooCommerce product when it is added to a cart.
Version 0.1.9 is available directly from TooFast. Hosted-service subscriptions are open. Supplier purchases require your explicit ordering settings and a supervised fulfillment check; leave automatic ordering off during setup. No order is placed by installing or checking the plugin.
Before you begin
- Have an approved WPS dealer account and your own API key. Ask WPS to enable the catalog, inventory, dropship and optional vehicle-fitment permissions needed by your business.
- Use an HTTPS WordPress store with WordPress 6.5+, PHP 8.2/OpenSSL and WooCommerce 9.6+. The tested profile is WordPress 7.1.3 / WooCommerce 11.2.1 with HPOS, Storefront classic checkout and Twenty Twenty-Five Cart/Checkout Blocks. Ask support before relying on another theme, search plugin, currency or headless storefront.
- Configure WooCommerce in USD. The initial supplier-order workflow supports US delivery addresses.
- Back up your WordPress database/files and confirm your store's payment gateway, taxes and shipping zones work with an ordinary local product.
Check compatibility before purchase
Download Toofast Catalog Connect 0.1.9. The local checker is available before you buy hosted-service access.
With plugin 0.1.9, open Tools > TooFast Compatibility as a site administrator. The local checks need no subscription or dealer key. They identify required failures, settings to review and untested behavior. Tools > Site Health includes a local prerequisite check. WordPress can refuse to activate the plugin if its declared PHP/WooCommerce dependencies are missing; resolve that message first.
The optional HTTPS connection test needs your separate checkbox/button approval. It contacts only the Toofast public health endpoint and sends no license, dealer key, customer, product or order data. Your server IP and ordinary connection metadata are visible to Toofast. A connection failure may be a service outage, DNS, TLS or a firewall issue; it does not establish that your host is unsuitable. The copyable support report stays local until you share it.
Use any compatible hosting provider. Optional TooFast managed WooCommerce hosting costs USD 79/month or USD 790/year through WHMCS, separately from the plugin's Stripe subscription. It includes one live store and protected staging within 10 GB total storage, 250 GB monthly transfer, hosting setup, managed updates, monitoring and encrypted off-server backups. New installations start automatically after the first hosting payment. Existing-site migrations need review. Store design, migrations, domains, email and paid extensions are separate. Confirm scope and avoid repurchasing the installation included with an annual plugin subscription.
A successful prerequisite check does not prove scheduled execution, dealer/fitment permissions, checkout or capacity. Complete the setup, known-SKU, guest checkout, coupon/MAP, tax and shipping checks below. No test payment or supplier order is submitted by the checker.
If you choose TooFast hosting
- Order the hosting plan and pay its first WHMCS invoice. This starts WordPress, WooCommerce and Catalog Connect installation; it does not start a paid Catalog Connect subscription.
- Point your store domain and
staging.yourdomain.comto 45.79.220.179. Use DNS-only records during setup; contact support before using a DNS proxy, changing an existing store's DNS or moving a live store. - Open the hosting service in your client area to follow progress. Setup waits for DNS, valid HTTPS, protected staging, scheduled jobs and verified initial backups. Contact support if it needs staff review or is still waiting after your DNS has propagated.
- Once installation is ready, use the hosting service's cPanel access and WP Toolkit to sign in securely to WordPress. Setup passwords are not emailed. WordPress, WooCommerce and Catalog Connect are already installed and active, so skip uploading the ZIP below.
- The store starts in coming-soon mode. Connect your own paid store license and WPS key with explicit service consent, configure your merchant payment provider, tax and shipping, and validate guest checkout before opening your store. Supplier ordering remains off until separately supervised.
Staging uses a separate database, blocks WordPress mail and external writes, and keeps supplier ordering off. Ask support for secure staging access. Do not copy staging orders or credentials over your live store. Hosting installation readiness does not mean that your business checkout and supplier fulfillment are configured.
Get your download and store license
- Sign in as the owner of your TooFast account and verify your email.
- Open Catalog Connect in your client area. Add the exact HTTPS URL shown by your WordPress store, including its subdirectory if it has one. Contact support for a domain change rather than registering a second paid subscription.
- Choose USD 199/month or USD 1,999/year. The annual plan includes one initial assisted installation. Monthly customers can add optional installation for USD 149 once; self-installation has no additional fee. There is no free trial. Review the Stripe confirmation before paying.
- Download the plugin ZIP from your TooFast account and copy that store's license. Keep the license private. A subscription covers one store.
Install the plugin
- In WordPress, open Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin. Select the Toofast Catalog Connect ZIP, click Install Now, then Activate Plugin. WooCommerce must already be active.
- Open WooCommerce > Toofast Catalog. Read the service/data disclosures, enter your store license and explicitly authorize the service connection. Connect the store.
- Confirm the hosted service shows active after Stripe has verified payment. Brief payment-verification delay can occur; refresh the settings page before trying another checkout.
- Under Configure WPS, enter your dealer API key. Leave both supplier-ordering checkboxes off during setup. Save your settings. A blank key field on later visits keeps the existing key; do not repeatedly re-enter it.
Set retail prices
Choose MSRP, MSRP minus a percentage, or dealer cost plus a percentage. A brand override takes priority over a supplier-category override, which takes priority over the default. Categories use WPS product types rather than your own WooCommerce category names.
For example, cost plus 25% calculates a USD 50 dealer-cost item at USD 62.50 before applicable bounds. A matching brand rule of MSRP minus 10% instead uses 90% of MSRP. Known MAP floors apply, and retail is capped at MSRP. Missing required dealer cost, MAP or inventory can make a part unavailable rather than inventing a price.
Keep MAP coupon protection enabled when required by your suppliers. It excludes an entire protected item from native WooCommerce coupons; eligible local products can still receive discounts. It does not interpret every brand's advertising agreement or third-party discount extension.
Open the API catalog and vehicle filter
- Click Create / locate parts page in WooCommerce > Toofast Catalog, or add the shortcode
[toofast_catalog]to a published page. - Add that page to your store navigation. Open it as a guest and try a known name or SKU. A valid descriptive index supports word-anywhere search. If it is unavailable, the page identifies the name/SKU prefix-search fallback.
- If your WPS key has fitment permission, enable API vehicle lookups and save. Select vehicle type, make, model and year, waiting for each page to update before choosing the next field.
- Check the product's application notes and trim. Missing fitment is unknown compatibility; a filter match is not a checkout fitment guarantee.
Configure customer shipping and handling
- Open WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping and edit each zone where you will sell WPS parts.
- Add/configure the Toofast WPS shipping method. Set base shipping, shipping per WPS unit, fixed handling and optional percentage handling. Choose free-shipping thresholds and coupon behavior deliberately.
- After a matching method is configured in every supported zone, enable the plugin's dedicated WPS shipping control and save.
- Test a mixed WPS/local cart. Dedicated shipping creates separate packages: WPS methods serve WPS products and ordinary WooCommerce methods serve your local products. A WPS package without a matching rate cannot proceed normally.
Example: USD 10 base + USD 2 per unit + USD 3 handling + 5% of WPS merchandise gives USD 17.81 shipping/handling for two units totaling USD 16.16. A separate local package and applicable shipping tax are additional.
These are customer charges you configure, not a live WPS freight quote. Supplier freight and dropship fees may differ. The initial supplier workflow requests BEST shipping rather than promising a particular carrier or express service.
Check your first cart and checkout
- Confirm the retail price, quantity, supplier availability and remote image for a known part. Browsing alone should not create a product library; adding the part should create/reuse one hidden product.
- Add an ordinary local product and a coupon. Confirm protected WPS merchandise receives no coupon discount and eligible local merchandise does.
- Test your supported delivery address, both shipping packages, handling and taxes. Test the checkout style and real merchant payment gateway you intend to offer.
- Connected checkout validates current price and availability; a changed price or unverified stock can require cart refresh. A check does not reserve supplier stock.
- Keep automatic supplier ordering off until TooFast and your business complete a separately authorized supervised fulfillment check. Customer payment and a supplier purchase are separate events.
Follow supplier shipments
With version 0.1.9, open WooCommerce > Toofast Catalog > Shipment tracking and leave automatic checks enabled if you want background updates for recorded WPS orders. Confirm that your server runs WordPress cron and WooCommerce Scheduled Actions reliably; installing the plugin alone does not prove scheduled execution.
The first check runs about one minute after a WPS submission. Checks then run every 15 minutes for 14 days from the WooCommerce order date, then every six hours until 90 days. Failed checks back off up to six hours. Existing recent orders are picked up in small background batches after upgrading. This uses order-status requests rather than importing the catalog.
Open the WooCommerce order's WPS Fulfillment box to see each warehouse shipment, tracking numbers and last successful check. Use Refresh supplier tracking for a manual check, including orders older than 90 days. Saved tracking also appears in customer order details and subsequently generated WooCommerce order emails. Recognized carrier codes have tracking links; other codes show their numbers without a guessed carrier.
New tracking adds a private order note. It does not send a separate shipment email, mark the entire order completed/delivered, charge anyone or create a new supplier order. Partial responses and failed checks preserve prior tracking. Disabling checks or disconnecting preserves saved tracking; a retained service connection is required for fresh checks, including tracking of previously submitted orders after a subscription ends.
Support: plugins@toofastweb.com. Send the plugin/WooCommerce versions, affected SKU, steps and a redacted screenshot. Do not email passwords, API keys, store licenses or card details.
Billing, updates and support
Plans and installation
The hosted service is USD 199 monthly or USD 1,999 annually per store, paid when subscribing and renewed automatically until canceled. Annual access includes one initial assisted installation. Monthly customers may purchase installation for USD 149 once; installing the plugin yourself has no extra charge. Supplier goods, freight, dropship fees, hosting, tax and your customer payment processing are separate.
For assisted installation, contact plugins@toofastweb.com after purchase. We will arrange a time and a secure access method. Use a temporary individual WordPress administrator login and remove it when installation is complete. Do not send a shared password or WPS key by email. No support response time or installation deadline is promised by these instructions.
Optional TooFast hosting
TooFast managed WooCommerce hosting costs USD 79/month or USD 790/year, with no hosting setup fee. It includes one live store and protected staging within a combined 10 GB storage limit, 250 GB monthly transfer, PHP 8.3, HTTPS setup, server scheduled jobs, managed updates and monitoring. Resources are shared; dedicated CPU/RAM or a traffic capacity is not promised. The catalog uses the WPS API without a full catalog/media import.
File backups are encrypted off-server in Dropbox with 30 daily restore points; database backups retain 24 hourly restore points. These are recovery points, not continuous replication or a guarantee of zero data loss. Request a restore through support and confirm what will be replaced. Keep an independent export before migration or cancellation.
After the first hosting invoice is paid, WHMCS automatically creates the hosting account and starts installing WordPress, WooCommerce and Catalog Connect. Your hosting service in the client area shows progress. Setup waits for domain/staging DNS, valid HTTPS, staging protection, scheduled jobs and first verified backups. Your store begins in coming-soon mode. You still connect your paid Catalog Connect license and own WPS key, configure merchant payments, taxes and shipping, and validate checkout before opening it. Installing the connector does not activate its paid subscription.
Existing-site migrations require review. Hosting setup and up to 5 email accounts are included with Commerce hosting; Commerce Pro includes up to 10. Included mailboxes share the hosting plan's total storage allowance. Store design, migrations, domains, paid extensions and applicable taxes are separate. Annual plugin access still includes one initial assisted installation; do not purchase it twice. Supplier ordering stays off in staging and requires a separate supervised setup for the live store. File backups retain 30 daily restore points; database backups retain 24 hourly restore points as that history accumulates.
Hosting and Catalog Connect have separate charges and renewal/cancellation flows. Catalog Connect uses its Stripe subscription; hosting uses WHMCS invoices and the hosting service in your client area. Paying for one does not activate or cancel the other. Hosting invoices have a three-day grace period after their due date. Once that expires, unpaid hosting can be suspended automatically. After overdue hosting invoices are paid and the service's paid-through date updates, the next scheduled check restores an account suspended by this nonpayment policy. Checks run about every five minutes. Staff/security holds require staff review. Suspension does not delete the website, cancel billing or refund a payment.
Request hosting cancellation through the hosting service in your client area; staff reviews the requested effective date. Do not assume that canceling the plugin keeps a hosted website paid, or that a WHMCS cancellation cancels the plugin subscription. Arrange a store export and any domain change before hosting ends. Use any compatible host if you prefer.
Manage billing or cancel
Open Manage billing or cancel in your TooFast Catalog Connect account, or Manage billing or cancel subscription in the WordPress settings. Stripe's hosted portal handles saved payment methods, invoice history and cancellation. Plan changes are currently support-assisted; contact plugins@toofastweb.com before changing monthly/annual billing. Review the proposed effective date, charge or credit before a change is made. Do not create another subscription to change plans.
A scheduled cancellation keeps hosted access through the paid period. A failed first payment never activates the service. Previously paid renewals receive a three-day failed-payment grace period. Update your payment method promptly if renewal fails. Billing verification is required even if WordPress has a cached result.
After paid access/grace ends, API catalog browsing, hosted price/stock updates and new supplier submissions stop. Existing WooCommerce products and orders remain under your control with their stored values. Review or pause affected local stock and arrange fulfillment yourself before accepting orders without live verification.
Disconnecting, deactivating, deleting or uninstalling the plugin does not cancel billing. Cancel the subscription separately in Stripe. Disconnect requests deletion of the hosted dealer key and removes the local connection; it preserves product/order records. Contact support if you cannot reach the billing portal, need a billing correction or want a refund reviewed. Refund requests follow the published terms and applicable rights.
Update the plugin
Back up WordPress first. Version 0.1.9 is available directly from TooFast. The WordPress.org plugin directory uses WordPress's normal update screen as the new release propagates. You can also obtain the ZIP from your TooFast account, upload it through Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin and use WordPress's Replace current with uploaded confirmation. Do not delete merchant products or order data as an update step. A newer ZIP may need its matching hosted-service version; follow its release notes.
After an update, confirm the connection, one known API search, your vehicle selector if enabled, and a test cart. Have your developer test custom themes, search engines, discount/gift-card extensions and checkout modifications on staging before updating your live store. No external automatic updater is supplied in the initial plugin.
Common setup messages
- Catalog unavailable or subscription required: check the owner's billing status and settings connection. Do not pay again while an existing subscription is active; contact support if a paid invoice is not reflected after verification.
- RATE_LIMITED: pause requests for a minute and try again. Avoid automated full-catalog crawling. Contact support with the time and store URL if normal shopper traffic reaches the limit.
- No fitment choices: confirm that WPS enabled fitment for your own key. Missing permission or a supplier outage differs from a confirmed no-match.
- Missing product or no available stock: verify the SKU and dealer's WPS access. Confirmed removed parts become out of stock locally; a transient outage does not prove removal.
- Price changed or stock could not be confirmed: refresh the cart and review the new total before checkout. Connected checks cannot reserve inventory.
- No WPS shipping rate: check the delivery zone and its Toofast WPS method before accepting that destination. Mixed carts need rates for both WPS and local packages.
- Supplier order needs review: reconcile with WPS before retrying. Never submit a second supplier purchase just because the first request timed out.
Supplier orders, tracking and refunds
Supplier submission is available after your explicit ordering setup. Confirm actual WPS freight and a supervised order before opting into automatic submission. Leave both ordering checkboxes off while configuring a new store. A paid WooCommerce order is eligible only when your store settings and the hosted service allow submission; installing the plugin does not place an order.
Version 0.1.9 includes automatic tracking for existing WPS orders: every 15 minutes during the first 14 days, then every six hours until 90 days, with failure backoff up to six hours. It requires a retained service connection and reliable WordPress cron. Older orders can still be refreshed manually. Split shipments and tracking links appear in order administration, customer order details and subsequent order emails. New tracking adds a private note; no separate email or automatic order completion is sent. Automatic checks can be disabled in WooCommerce > Toofast Catalog without losing saved shipment history.
Simple products and US dropship destinations are supported. Stock checks do not reserve inventory. Grouped variants and automatic supplier cancellations/refunds are not included. A WooCommerce refund or canceled customer order does not cancel a WPS purchase. Contact WPS directly to reconcile supplier changes, and update the customer order appropriately.
When contacting support, include the merchant order number and error message, not a full customer export. Redact addresses, keys and payment data. WPS dealer permissions, freight and application/trim verification remain the merchant's responsibility.
